Impacts of biofuel production on Europe’s biodiversity
In November 2008, ECNC (European Centre for Nature Conservation) published an overview paper on biofuel production and biodiversity in Europe which highlights the negative as well as positive impacts.
Of particular interest is the fact that the document provides examples on how biomass production from species-rich grasslands and from wetlands may contribute positively to conserving part of the semi-natural vegetation in Europe.
The document can be downloaded direct from: www.ecnc.org/Output/Index_867.html
